Meredith H. Jones is the retired president and CEO of the Maine Community Foundation, a statewide public foundation with over $600 million in assets.  Under her leadership, assets more than doubled, and the foundation engaged in a number of special initiatives including a focus on higher education attainment.

Before joining the foundation she worked for the Maine Development Foundation where she co-created Leadership Maine, Educate Maine, Educator-in-Residence program, and the Maine Policy Leaders Academy.

Her board service has included the Winthrop School Committee, the United Way of Kennebec Valley, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Community Development Advisory Council, Maine Philanthropy Center, Educate Maine, Northeast Bank Community Advisory board, Maine Women’s Fund, CFLeads, and the Maine Humanities Council.

Jones is the recipient of two honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degrees from the University of Maine at Augusta and the University of Southern Maine. She is a graduate of Colby Sawyer College and the University of Maine at Augusta and has completed post-graduate work at the University of Maine.
